to be that thin again!

ha. i'd been sick for at least 10 days straight
[result of bad water i'd drank in romania].
really sick. it was apparent by my emaciated state.

i was virtually swimming in a shirt that i probably
shouldn't be wearing right now. :D

it took about three whole weeks to fill out again. :(
oh well.
here's to the treadmill.

"Upon Contemplating Darfur"

Mothers watch their children die,
Rocking them to sleep.
Broken down by fear and shame,
Hopelessly they weep.

Orphans starve for food and love,
Ignorant of peace.
Innocence was never theirs’
As horrors never cease.

Brothers watch as Sisters’ souls
Are stolen in the night.
Blinding tears and buried prayers.
Wounded doves in flight.

Reeling from the terrible truth.
Straining just to see
Why these people struggle so-
Fighting just to be.

the third psalm...

LORD, how are they increased that trouble me! many are they that rise up against me.
Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.
But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.
I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.
I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.
I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about. Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly.
Salvation belongeth unto the LORD: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.
